Hello!
My name’s Josh, and my family and I live in the Phoenix, Arizona area. We love to explore Arizona and beyond, with our goal being to cover all 50 states, and really started traveling more within the past couple years. So far, we’ve been to the following US states as a family:
- Arizona (of course)
- California
- Colorado
- Kansas
- Kentucky
- Missouri
- Nebraska
- New Mexico
- Ohio
- Oregon
- South Dakota
- Texas
- Utah
- West Virginia
- Wyoming
In addition to road tripping with my family, I also love to camp and have recently begun to get into offroading locally here in Arizona.
We want to share our adventures because we know the amount of planning that goes into any successful trip – but especially when you have kids – is a lot. What if we don’t plan enough and they’re bored? What if we plan too much and are rushing the whole time to get to the next thing? What if we spend too much money?
We do all this with every trip within Arizona and beyond, so why not help others to plan while we’re at it?
We do everything – camping, road tripping, and offroading – with our Nissan Titan, which I also use for varying home improvement projects. All these uses mean the truck needs to remain pretty versatile, so we can’t just stick a camper on it and call it good. We are also budget-conscious, which means I won’t be toting around a $6,000 rooftop tent. Each and every maintenance decision, tool, or upgrade we make to the truck has to factor all this in, so we’ll share that as we go too.
FAQs
Where are you based?
We’re based in the Phoenix, Arizona metro.
Why are you doing this?
We want to share our travels with interested friends and family, but we also want to help out any other families like us who want to get out and explore more. We’re doing the planning, so we may as well share it with you!
Why don’t you drive a more popular vehicle?
If you’ve been around the travel/camping spaces online, it seems like everyone is using a Wrangler, a Raptor, a Tacoma, or a Sprinter (that should probably cover 90% of it, right?). But these are expensive, and/or limited use. The latest generation Nissan Titan (RIP – end of production 2024) came with a solid, simple powertrain and great warranty for a great price. We’re not made of money, and you probably aren’t either. And since we use it for a variety of cases – we use it for road trips, camping, light offroading, hauling lumber, hauling furniture, hauling landscape material, helping people move, and more – we keep versatility and value at front of mind for every upgrade we make.
